A thank you to Deborah

Postby bcopi » Sun Jul 04, 2010 3:05 pm

Today is the official change of ownership to me, but everyone should know it will be "business as usual". Deborah has done an incredible job running the site for the last several years and I don't have intentions of making drastic changes. Don't fix it if it ain't broke. I'm still getting my feet wet with all the technical aspects of running the site. Later, I might make slight changes with the input of you and the other mods (i.e. chat time, recommendations, etc). For now, I'm hoping you don't notice a change at all...unless I click the wrong button in the hosting server. ;-) Eek!

I will never be able to fill Deborah's shoes, but I hope that with the help of my fellow moderators, and my wonderful husband who is helping with the technical aspects of running the site, I'll be able to meet your needs. I just wanted to thank Deborah again for all the love, time, and energy she has selflessly devoted to the site and its members. I can personally attest to the fact that without this site and her specifically, I would not be doing so well today. I have my life back and it's because of her. I learned so much from her and only hope that I have can someday "pay it forward" and help someone else the way she has helped me. Thank you Deborah, from the bottom of my heart.

Also a huge thank you to the other moderators without whom there is NO WAY I would even consider taking on this job. It's not a one person thing...it takes a village... ;-)

Bree
Loving being me again! I got my life back! I did it! Thanks to RTH and especially Deborah! Couldn't have done it without them or my wonderful, supportive husband!

A seamless transition is certainly what we plan and hope for! I'm feeling a little bit sad about handing over my baby, but I know that you'll all continue to take good care of her. I'm not actually going anywhere, but you may see me around a bit less, at least for a while. I find it personally fulfilling to be able to help others, after all! :-)

An absolutely huge thank you to Deborah for years of incredible kindness and assistance, and a lot of laughs along the way. You take it easy for a while, you need the rest.

Bree, thank you so very much for taking this on, and please thank your husband for all that he's doing. You're very brave and selfless to take on this task, and we'll all be in your debt. I have complete confidence that this will be seamless and you'll do a fabulous job.

Even though I'm new to the forum, I've lurked for quite awhile and learned so much! :-)

Deborah--Thank you for all that you've done for us--your advice has been invaluable on my journey to wellness.

Bree--I know you will do a terrific job!

Thank you to Deborah and Bree. :)

I thought I responded in one of these threads already but apparently not.

I just really want to say I love this forum! I post on many different forums and this style message board is the best so I'm glad it's not going anywhere! I find it so much more supportive and personal and helpful compared to the Yahoo groups. No offense to anyone but I find the Yahoo groups are messy and unless you're someone who posts daily or weekly for YEARS, you can be treated like an idiot or a newbie with every post you make. Plus, it's like every post gets 1 or 2 responses from the same people and you get a very vague response. There's a lot of drive-by posts/responses. Also repetitive topics. This style forum it's easier to bring up old topics and bump them and get them going again. You can't do that on Yahoo. This style forum you get to have better signatures, remember eachother by sn (even though I changed mine lol)or avatar and notice postcounts and people here are just more personal with their posts. :)
