Deep breath and tingling

B-12 makes a BIG difference in how well we use thyroid hormones!!! So does ferritin. For more info & support on these issues, post in this forum.

Deep breath and tingling

Postby crystal lyn » Mon Jun 28, 2010 10:19 pm

Since I've been taking a bunch of B-12, I am getting tingling in my fingers. Before, just numb all the time. The tingling is more so when I take a deep breath. I just want to know if anyone has experienced this. Maybe the nerves are healing?

Hmm, well it's something, I'll assume the nerves are healing. I can't be alone in this....

Unless it's low potassium from the B12, then it sounds like nerve healing! Some say it feels funny.

I'm sorry that I didn't see this sooner. I have a thought, but let me run it by someone and I'll be back.

When I finally read your post (again the apology for not seeing it earlier), Thoracic Outlet Syndrome screamed at me. Tingling of fingers with inspiration is hallmark. After checking with someone in the know, this is their reply:

"True Thoracic Outlet Syndrome will cause numbness/tingling in medial forearm and hand (to 4th and 5th fingers). If whole hand is numb, or if all fingers involved, TOS may contribute to such but generally something else going on... Among others, often cervicothoracic root and Subscapularis muscle involvement (one of the Rot Cuff muscles).

True TOS may involve nerve plexus pressure at lower Anterior Scalene muscle (near its insertion on Rib 1), between the clavicle and 1st rib, and/or at pec minor muscle/tendon. Cervicothoracic roots should also be assessed. Most cases do not require surgery. Chiropractic care often indicated as all of the above can be addressed as needed."

Nigel, I used to get muscle twitching a lot, especially in the evening. I had to take a lot of K to fix this. I haven't had that in a couple of months for some reason. I just concentrate on my potassium G in lemon water.

No problem Laurie, I appreciate the extra mile. Sounds complicated, I'll have to investigate. I have been to lots of chiros but they have never been able to help. It is interesting though that the tingling(especially when inhaling) started when I started to be serious with the b-12. The numbness started in my left and then the right a couple months later. Not the palm, just the fingers(all including thumbs). The feet numbness started in the ankles(mainly the left ankle) and I literally limped around for 2 months. Now, I have just numb-ish toes. I've been upset lately because my left big toe is numb now. I think I need new orthodics because the old ones that I got 5 years ago seem to make my feet feel worse.

So, the tingling and numbness in hands and fingers is possible symptom of luck of B12 or B vitamins period?
My hands/fingers are numbs and tingling all the time... I am taking the Vitamin B complex, but it does not seems to be helping?
Thanks.

My numbness/tingling of my hands and feet didn't subside until after B12 injections. My symptoms got worse despite high dose sublinguals (9-10mg/day).
