Time for a fried egg sandwich!

But seriously, I'm sorry, cause I know how hot it's been up here the last few days, especially with the heat index, and you're further south. Yikes! Come on September!

Janet, how hot is it up in Georgia? Have you all gotten the heat like further up the east coast that has been reported on? We have set new records here almost daily. Right now I am in "on break" from working in the yard since there are health warnings set for 10:00 a.m. on.

The weather is crazy. Wednesday we had a storm here that was one of two worst storms I can recall (other than hurricane Charlie) every living through in this house and I have been here for almost 24 years. It was absolutely frightening!

Wow! That is crazy about that storm (and I remember Charlie, cause we packed up and left town for him  ) We've had just hot days, temps in the upper 90's with heat indices up at 115+ every day for the last two weeks or so. But the last couple of days we got to 99, which for here, is hot, because usually the breeze off the ocean keeps us a bit cooler. Are y'all forecast to cool down any at all?

Ha, ha, we stayed during Charlie - that experience convinced me to never stay during another hurricane (and I haven't since).

My neighbor told me what we experienced was a "microblast" - personally I never heard of it before and definitely don't want to ever experience it again either - winds were reported over 60 miles per hour, rain was blowing completely side ways, the hail was hitting all the glass on the back of the house - thank God for the double paned glass - it was loud; I kept listening or trying to for the train sound they say you here with a tornado, but all I could hear was the rain - it was so scary, but the real kicker was when I saw my daughter's "play house" one of those big wooden swing set house combos by Playnation (completely bolted) blown, while still standing, to a 45 degree angle, then I was scared! Oh well, we survived and it's all over now.

No, no reports of a break anytime soon. Hubby was out around 4:00 and it was 113 then.

It sounds especially hot there too. I have a friend who lives in Savannah - she was telling me it has been too hot for her to even go over to the coast. We thought about going back to Tybee this year, (we had a great time last year while there and Savannah) but decided to opt for a new destination on the west coast here. Now I wonder if I will even bother leaving the house and pool next week. Maybe it will be cooler there, I sure hope so!

We had a microblast hit here about 8-9 years ago. It ripped the roof our well house. We kept listening for that train sound too. It's so scary.

Having lived in Mobile, we were just so used to leaving town for Hurricanes, that we didn't think twice when Charlie was coming, but then he turned out to be nothing up here. And Brunswick hasn't taken a direct hit in over 100 years, so we stay put now. There is definitely something about being in the "pot belly" of Georgia that seems to protect us.

Enjoy your vacation!

Well, they said today that Jax has broken their record for all time hottest Summer, with a record number of days (I think it's 42) straight with temps 90 or above. Same up here basically.
